Hi, I’m Jo and I started this blog to engage with other sewists online and share my passion for all things handmade. As well as sewing I also knit, crochet and spin and it is my aim to have an almost entirely handmade wardrobe one day (well except for shoes).
I began sewing at university as a way of furnishing our house with curtains and inherited my first sewing machine from my mother-in-law (along with a few curtain making lessons). I draped the houseand did little bits of sewing but didn’t really sew any garments until I graduated. Garment sewing lessons was a treat to myself for years of hard work getting educated and bar a few breaks, when I have chased my other passions, I have never looked back. I’ve made skirts, dresses, t-shirts, jackets, trousers and have also reupholstered an armchair. My latest challenge is studying for a certificate in pattern making.
I also love art, reading and cooking and may share some of these other passions with you along the way.
