It’s done! And it’s huge!! This oversize scarf is a Marie Wallin design in Felted Tweed from the Windswept Rowan collection and it was for the most part a pleasurable knit. The colours, 165 Scree and 186 Tawny which Sunspun gave me, are fabulous and it is super warm – perhaps a little too warm for our Melbourne climate, but I would totally be wanting to take this to Europe for a winter holiday.
It took about a month to knit (not including having to pull out 60 rows because I was unhappy with the fabric at that gauge) which is quite satisfying for an impressive looking project. I was having a few all out knitting days on it by the end though!
I made no moderations due to it being a shop sample and was listening to The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert on audio book as I went. I thoroughly recommend this book BTW. I like slow going sagas so it’s maybe not for you if you like your books to be jam packed with action in only a few hundred pages, but then I could say the same thing about this scarf. Both are more of a journey with parts that feel slow and parts where there’s some action but over all the getting there is a lot of fun.
