Self drafted A-line gore skirt

goreskirt3 Here is the gore skirt we will be drafting over the next couple of weeks! goreskirt2 It’s the A-line pleated gore skirt and I’m going to cover how I made it using a straight skirt block, although I’ll show you how you can use a straight skirt pattern if you don’t have a block. I’ve already made mine up in a white cotton drill with a poplin lining, which means I’ve hopefully ironed out all of the bugs in this make. goreskirt1 My skirt is knee length as I’m loving the midi-skirt right now, but yours doesn’t have to be. Either way I reckon this will be the perfect trans-seasonal piece for your wardrobe, I know I plan to wear the hell out of this (or at least for as long as a clumsy person like me can keep it looking white!). I also wanted to introduce my inspiration for the name of this blog: lame-shoes Here is my nod to the metallic trend, my gold lamé sneakers. I happened to buy them the day I was brainstorming the name for this place and inspiration took, well I guess you have to take these things where you find them. So gather your skirt block or skirt pattern and we’ll begin anon!

The skirt looks beautiful on you! And I like the photo shoot location too. Planning to join the sewalong.
