The wonderful thing about living in Australia is that you don’t have to go abroad for some winter sun. I’m one lucky blogger taking a few days rest in Queensland and it is so nice to be warm! I can’t take my sewing machine with me so I’m doing a bit of warm weather knitting. This is going to be a Zephyr cardigan by Tori Gurbisz and I’m knitting it Debbie Bliss Amalfi a soft textured cotton/viscose/linen/silk blend yarn, perfect for handling in warmer climates.
I’ve also managed to buy fabric here too (what can I tell you? it’s a talent I have) three metres of West African printed cotton from a market on the Port Douglas Marina. It’s just the sort of thing that I would never buy if I lived in the UK but seems perfect to wear in the hot Australian summers. It is so soft and light, I can’t wait to make a bright dress out of it when I get home!
Another draft online post coming soon peeps, are you ready to put some gore in your skirt?
